Changing your email or recovery email needs your password

Sign-in email, recovery email and account deletion all ask for your current password first.

What you see

Saving a new email or recovery email is refused with a password message.

  • Enter your current password to confirm this change.
  • Current password is incorrect.
  • Too many incorrect password attempts. Please wait and try again later.
  • That email is already in use.
  • Your recovery email must be different from your account email.

Why it happens

These changes could hand your account to someone else, so Clepora checks it's really you, even when you're signed in. Changing your sign-in email also signs out your other sessions, and the previous address gets an email about the change.

How to fix it

  1. Open Profile → Personal info.
  2. Enter the new address and your current password, then save.
  3. Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. The link can be sent to your account email or your recovery email and lasts 1 hour.
  4. Too many wrong attempts? Wait a while before trying again.
  5. Pick a recovery email that's different from your sign-in email.
